So I´m trekking around Central America with my best girl friend from college and I have to say...dirt roads are starting to grow on me

A Desire for Reminiscence

Location: Santa Teresa, Costa Rica

I found myself frolicking down memory lane the other day and realized that in honor of Emma and her incredible mother, Karen I need to devote a word or two to our days in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. First of all, what needs to be made known is that this location is unreal. At times we would rise as early as 6am to the strength of the sun penetrating the sarong-covered windows (I had to take a picture with my favorite one below), go upstairs to enjoy a cup of Emma´s infamously strong coffee, and sit talking with a group of very strong women. There was strength abound. I didn´t know many of these girls before coming on this trip and I have grown to respect and love them all.

Although Julia and I have been trekkin it dos for the past month, I just want to send out a huge thanks to you guys for making my birthday the best one to date (except of course when I was 7 and my mom hired a pony guy to take us on pony rides around the col de sac) and to Emma and her mom for taking such incredible care of us. I will never forget this trip and certainly cannot wait to get back to the Nicoya Peninsula in the VERY near futuro.

I have three words for you all: Sunset, Clos, and "She Moves in Her Own Way". Well that's like 8 words but it somewhat sums up life in S.T. Maybe throw in Rancho Sancho and we got it made. Miss you guys and keep us in touch with the real world!

My birthday dinner at Las Piedras (aka best chicken on the face of the planet). So...a whole chicken, 6 girls, one too many glasses of wine, and a crew of Canadians later it was dance party 2008 a la Shelton residence
